Reach Robotics

Reach Robotics is building the world’s first intelligent gaming platform, MekaMon. Billed as the future of gaming, MekaMon is a multifunctional battlebot with augmented reality capability.

Founded by robotics graduates from University of the West of England (UWE), Reach Robotics is located at the Future Space Innovation Centre, located on the UWE Bristol campus, part of the wider University Enterprise Zone initiative. There could be upwards of 450 jobs created on site as part of the new University Enterprise Zone, with the knock-on effect of supporting employment in the supply chain and local economy.

From the outset Reach Robotics wanted to be part of an ecosystem where they could connect with other start-ups at a similar stage. The company formed part of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory incubator programme, based on the UWE Bristol campus, but their ambitious growth plans led them to graduate into their own private space at Future Space, which is next to the robotics lab. Choosing to be part of the Future Space community not only opened up an invaluable network, it enabled the business to retain close links to one of the most advanced robotics labs in Europe.

Due to the flexible nature of the workspace and the ability to tap into the UWE talent pipeline, Reach Robotics has been able to grow smoothly from a team of five to ten employees in the past year. The company has also just secured a £5.8m investment, led by South Korea- and Singapore-based investors.
